According to a new Princeton University study, dogs are mostly — if not completely inept — when it comes to using tennis balls.
“We had somewhat high expectations going in,” says lead researcher Sandeep Choudhury, D.V.M. “The tennis ball is a perennial favorite of the canine community. We assumed the dogs would display at least an average aptitude with the object. As it turns out, they haven’t the slightest idea what to do with the thing.”
